1x6 Young Justice
This is a good episode. I like the set up and how they’re keeping the big baddie a secret and decently compelling. We still don’t know their agenda, but I’m pretty sure its either GLOBAL CONQUEST or the ANNIHILATION OF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE!! Its always one of the two. I like how they set up Artemis and then got right in to the action while they developed a little into her back story with out making it a character eccentric story.
Like I said I like the set up, -huff- Speedy, saved some Science Lady from the Shadows because she invented some nano bugs that read computers and they sent it to Star Labs and Wayne Corp. Speedy, who wants to be called Red Arrow, drops her on them and leaves. They protect her from The Shadow while she makes a virus or anti virus or something to stop the bugs. Everyone.. EVERYONE complains about Artemis but they get the job done. Science lady makes the virus/anti-virus thingy and stops the nano bugs from Wayne Tech, which was funny because Robin was like “Whoa dudes, if they get in there they can hack the justice le— NVM LETS GET THEEM” Which means Batman/Bruce made the computers for the Justice League which was hinted in the first episode where he hacks into the Hall of Justice. Anyway, Artemis stops the Donnie Darko, Frank, looking Ninja which turns out its a cat… Anyway… They banter for a bit highlighting that Artemis isn’t who she says she is and the end Speedy says the same thing.
1x5 Young Justice
I’m mixed. This was a bad episode, but its not a good episode. I’m glad Superboy is getting some depth and not being an emo asshole, but Superman didn’t help his cause any. The episode premise wasn’t that great either, ‘There is a bad ass robot that can mimic our powers/strength but we defeated it don’t worry. We just need you to protect the convoys that have the parts in it.” I’m pretty sure you knew how the whole episode was going to go down. The only upside was that Superboy was the one to figure out how to stop the robot and not Robin or Megan having dumb luck.
I’m not going to explain the episode this review because its not really worth mentioning, just that you know it was a Superboy centered episode and he /hopefully/ gets less emo and more… Normal, for a super powered weapon.
1x4 Young Justice
This was an amazing episode. It finally took care of some major issues with the team and finally got to see them working as a whole. Though I am skeptical of Aqualads leadership it is what is needed for them to grow as a team. They even left it open for Robin to gain leadership in the future. Overall, like I said, this was an amazing episode. They’re keeping the main bad guys, some about light, a mysterious and using 2 and 3 tier villains to show Young Justice growing as team. My only problem with the episode, and the episodes so far even though this is the 4th epsiode, is that Superboy has grown any. The only thing he has learned to do is tolerate Megan, thats some growth but not as much as Robin and Aqualad has. I really don’t expect KF too, because COME ON HIS MENTOR IS THE FLASH!
So the episode went like this…
They are having their first real assignment and Robin calls first dibs on leader. They head out to a to an island where Bane had a fight with some guy that had Venom, the steroids that give him strength, infused with the Block Buster thingy from the first episode. Well They somehow change their costumes to black, because its a covert mission I guess, and go on the island. Well Robin being the intrepid leader leads them to a fire fight between the bad guys, COBRA! and Banes men. They inadvertently help Banes men win and Bane all spanishy, which Superboy can understand, tells his henchman they will use the team to fight off COBRA! Oh and on a side note, this isn’t the COBRA! and Cobra Commander is no where, its some cult or something. Well they all go to factory destroy some stuff and fight about the leadership till they decided, well Megan points it out, that Aqualad should be leader. There is a heartfelt dialogue between Aqualad and Robin about leadership and they go off BUT WAIT ITS BEEN A TRAP SET UP BY BANE while they were arguing about leadership. KF steals the detonator and Superboy punches the hell out of Bane. They fight COBR— Cobra and explode a helicopter full of the Venom/Block Buster stuff and go back to the Mountain. They get chewed out by Batman but he tells them good job. Then we see Sports Master, he was “behind” the whole Venom/Block Buster thing or something and he reports to what I am calling “The Light Committee” they then ramble on how this isnt a coincidence and I guess vow to kill Young Justice or something. They’re kind of vague.
